    Default Carry @ DIA???

I would like to know for sure [no opinions, please] if we can carry @ DIA in the baggage area only! Yes I know not to try to carry thru security, but how about going to pick up some one at baggage? Will I be braking a law? :?:

    Thanks in advance!

Nothing in the law specifically says you can't. The airport police will tell you otherwise. The airport police will arrest you. You will be prosecuted. You will incur heavy legal fees and will most likely lose unless you have a top notch lawyer and deep pockets. I'd recommend James Bardwell for your attorney, he will win. He has won these in the past. He will be expensive. Karl. [poke]

I have carried at DIA as long as you do not attempt to go to a steril area it is perfectly legal. I even asked Denver PD about it since they are the ones who work the airport and they simply said keep it concealed and there will not be a problem.

That's just my take on it to each their own.

And that's the law, like you said. It should be that way too. But I've heard a few heavy handed stories from there and the airport in the Springs. I carried the last time I went to the Springs airport, but we were "hunting" and CSPD knew about us. I just don't have 100% trust in the system at times. Karl.

I had an appointment at DIA several days ago and the large sticker on every entry door stating that bringing a loaded firearm into the premises by unauthorized persons constituted a felony had me wondering if a concealed-carry permit amounts to being authorized (I opted to return to my vehicle and leave certain items in the car).

Wow... Holy thread Resurrection batman. Almost 7 years later.

You ARE allowed to carry in an airport with a permit if you do not enter or attempt to enter a sterile area. Be carful, there are hallways and corridors of airports that are before security that are considered sterile. These often include the airport police station, customs offices, etc.

Stay in the main guest area, don't attempt to go through security and don't go wandering into hallways and back corridors and you will be fine.
