I've CC'd in the baggage claim area in the past, but now I prefer not to. For one, I can't imagine NEEDING a pistol there, and two - I damn sure don't want to be a MWAG when the Cavalry start arriving from every direction.

I've also heard that the place is considered private property, or city property, and even though CCW may be "legal" there, it's certainly frowned upon. I'm all about rights, but I'm also all about avoiding unpleasant situations whenever possible.

Once in a blue moon I may have to go out there as a non-traveler, but considering how rarely that happens I'll just take my chances that nobody's going to go on a shooting rampage. If someone does, I'll just find cover. I don't want to have a gun in MY hand when the return fire starts.

Then you've apparently missed the shooting incidents that have occurred in such areas of airports.

DIA is not private property. City property means that the CCW statute applies and preempts any municipal ordinance.

What shooting incidents? Can you name any, provide links? Since I may go there once a year for less than 30 minutes, I don't consider it worth the risk. There's a better chance of me getting shot or clubbed to a pulp by the cops out there than by a lunatic shooter. Every cop I've ever seen at DIA seemed to carry a bad attitude about just having to be there.

There used to be signs saying no weapons on the property..felony..etc. I'm pretty sure it was RMGO that sued and got the signs changed. I go there fairly frequently, the signs now say "in secure areas" or something similar. It's your right, and you are acting within the law.
