Here is what I posted on ARFCOM I think we need to get with CSSA and see what we can do in conjunction with them, even if it is duplicating efforts.

    ===================

OK, I know that the owners of 5280 Armory here in the metro area have been very concerned about this since the election; their lively hood is linked to this issue. They were talking about getting their regulars and other shop owners organized. So continue to support local shops where you can, they’ll be part of our front line!!!!!!!

Pass the word, contact the NRA-ILA EVA rep in your area and if there isn't one, post here and we can push on the NRA to get us one or someone can step up and do it.

Next we need a few things more:

    1. Solid e-mail addresses posted or a link to them for all of the state reps/senators

    2. Solid e-mail addresses for all of the major markets talking heads (talk radio, local talk shows for TV, FM station DJ's as well - read Greg aka Uncle Nasty on KBPI)

    3. We need a few specific "form" letters.

    a. One reminding everyone that just got elected that we gun owners are watching and will take legal action in conjunction with the NRA and every other national organization we can find to participate.

    b. One letting Ritter know that we "The People" will not sit idle if he decides that he wants to Kalifornicate our state and homes.

    4. We need to seek out lawyers who will be willing to help shape communications (letters and rough scripts for talking with the media) to our lawmakers and others so that we are on firm legal grounds.

    5. We need mass mailings from all of these web sites.. Colorado based or not, the more people that are willing to write these guys, the more they are going to know that they are being watched and will be facing a very hard fight.

Step up folks, lets see if we can get some of this done, get it posted here and every other major gun site that we all visit. Let’s start getting in contact with the NRA as well.

While I'm not really the guy you want writings these letters, I am willing to pony up for 2 and maybe more 1 year NRA memberships for anyone that has never been in the NRA or couldn't afford to renew for financial hardship reasons. I would hope that any other NRA member would do the same thing if for no other reason than to increase our ranks!

I did rejoin the NRA after the election, for what good it'll do. I did it for 5 years.

Remember, the squeaky wheel gets the grease.
    BE the squeaky wheel.
    Make LOTS of noise.

    Apathy runs rampant.
That is what has got us the UNconstitutional laws we have now.

    DON’T sit idly by.
    Make your voice heard.
If you don’t speak up now, forever suffer the consequences.

Gun laws do NOT get rolled back.
If this as*^%$ gets any passed, we are stuck with them, even after he is gone.
Don’t count on any “sunset” laws from this joker.

    Good points.

Does anyone have what he said in print or a recording? I'd like to hear for myself.

you can obtain a transcript of the peter boyles show by contacting KHOW

nothing personal however i doubt anything wil be introduced until after the 08 election. then we will see a massive push by schumer nationally and ritter locally for a nationwide ban. which if passed will have no sunset,

yes i'm politically active, and it will be an uphill fight. look at how many states went "Blue"

It seems like the interest to get involved in putting a stop to a ban before it gets started is high with us, but we need to get organized with the other groups and maybe some help from the national organizations.

We should have a plan that will contact the people in the .gov who can really get thing done (or not done). Who is on our side? Who is on their side? Who would bring the bill to the a vote?

How to go about this the right way is going to be a big part of doing it right.

    Any ideas??

I do believe that if you read what I posted you'll see the link to the NRA-ILA website. That is the NRA's grassroots organization that will assist us. I'm going to put in a call to them here soon to see about getting some of that information, form letters for mail and email and an address list by affiliation at the state level. I'll post that stuff as soon as I have it.

Here is a link to the NRA site where you can look up your representatives by zip code -

    http://www.capwiz.com/nra/dbq/officials/

I'm still working on getting form letters for both snail mail and email.

    Received the following on this:

    "Date: Fri, 8 Dec 2006 22:02:30 -0700
    From: Deke44 <deke44@aol.com>
    Subject: Ritter alert

Things are getting tense. The rumors reaching us are enough to stagger the
imagination. It appears the sheeple, in their unwisdom, have elected the
most anti-gun governor in Colorado history. The rumor has it that there
are already stacks of bills going to the legislature which would:

    Make "safe storage" mandatory

Make semi-auto rifles illegal for hunting

Create a state-wide "assault weapons" ban, and one of the most
    comprehensive every dreamed up

Make the simple fact your neighbor sees you loading guns into your car
cause for a warrantless raid on your home

According to what I heard of Ritter's latest radio appearance, he wants to
pattern Colorado's gun laws after the wonderful firearm-friendly land of
    fruits and nuts, California.

Monday, December 11, at 7 PM on Channel 12 Denver television, the Aaron
Harbor show, Ritter is to be the guest and will take calls. Please, those
of you who can get this show, call, and ask him about these things and get
him on record. Will someone please tape the show, as well? We want him on
the record, yea or nay, on these rumors. Also, those gunnies in the state
who vote independent or Democrat, please call your state senator or write
him/her, and demand these sorts of anti-gun bills be voted down. Tell them
we elected them to be moderates, not wild-eyed anti-gun lefties. The
future of Colorado's hunting and shooting sports may be on the line.

I don't see how it will happen. Out of the 64 house districts, the Brady campaign only has backing/relationships with 23. Plus, there are 35 senators, of which only 4 are closely associated with the gun grabbers.

Possible, yes, probable, not as I see it at the moment.
