House handles. I've picked a few good ones locally. But if anybody wants to order from House maybe we could split shipping ? I think a 28" octagon would be cool on my new project.

And Pook that pickaroon is awesome ! I havent seen one in good shape yet but I'd like to add one to the group.

Thanks. I now have two and they get used every year when I split wood.

I'm not familiar with Gambles Artisan. Looks like a store brand.

A few places to buy handles:

    http://tennesseehickoryproducts.com/
    https://www.househandle.com/products-2.html
    http://stores.ebay.com/Hickory-Handl...ml?refid=store

The local Ace has D Link handles, just watch the grain pattern. I just found a good handle for a railroad adze at McGuckin's, in Boulder.

That's the only one I have yet to use - picked up a couple of chainsaws for the heavy work.
I have no complaints on the other two and expect anything from them to be great.

Plus one for House Handle. They will even sand off the varnish for 50 cents. Well worth it if you like a natural handle. They seal them all by default. I buy 5 or six at a time to make shipping worth while. As for fine Swedish axes, check out Husksvarna. I bought a forest axe. Then a hatchet. Made by one of the famous axe companies. Blade cover is a bit lame, but axe is first rate.

The new place is "rustic". Lots of rough wood and places to hang sctuff.

Most of these have been covered in this thread. Add another pickaroon and a hewing hatchet. Both no name.

Also a pair of African, ebony handled, hand forged hatchets. They are old but not sure if they were for tourists or ceremonial.

Very nice. Do we have a thread on how to rehab axes, and how to select them?

    Thanks.

I don't think there is a thread for solely for this. Here is a good vid on how to select a handle and rehang.
