Mac 9....Cobray? Ingram? Masterpiece?
Hey guys, i want to buy a Mac 9 just for s**ts and giggles. Coming from Kalifornia i have always wanted one, but never been able to buy one. Now im in Colorado and i can now get one! I dont plan on using it for anything but for a fun gun, and to send pics back to my buddies in Ca showing them what they cant have
What im looking for for is abit of info. I want to buy one that will not give me any problems.(durability, reliability open bolt, closed bolt, etc) There is a few different makers on the market now, and i havent heard any differences between the lot. Any one got any input?
Thanks in advance for any info that will lead me in the right direction!

Hmmm, most of the current bunch of M-11/9, MAC-10 type guns are pretty much all the same. They will all be closed-bolt, they won't be very accurate, and mags will cost more than you think. I have an F/A M-11/9 and it is a cool bullet hose, a semi-auto one will just be a big handgun. If you want to torture you buddies in CA., come out to one of our shoots. Ryan

i agree with Ryan. i also own a full auto open bolt as well as a semi closed bolt. i think there are better things to spend your money on if you are in the market for a pistol. i have a AA Arms AP9 that is a much more reliable gun with a sinister look "tec9". still big and heavy but i think its funner to shoot.

Thanks for the input guys. Is there any difference between open and closed bolt? i have heard that open bolt is the way to go, but not sure.
Thanks in advance!

i can tell you my full auto is open bolt and my semi is closed. i'm not really sure the restrictions on all open bolt guns or if they are all registered or not. other than that the only real difference between my pieces is about $2,900 and of course rate of fire. someone on here has to know the whole scoop.

ATF ruled some time ago that semi-auto guns must fire from the closed bolt position because it was to easy to convert the open bolt guns to full auto.Any semis you find now will be closed bolt. Take Shrapmetal's advice and spend your money on a quality weapon like an AR or one of the better AK's (like Arsenal). You'll be glad you did.

I guess the Mac's gonna wait for a while.

Good choice. Send pics of that to your buddies in CA, because they can't have it either. [usa]
