I got one last week. He was a fairly good bird. A Merriam's the was 24lbs 3oz, 7 7/8" beard with spurs right at 1" each. We ate him the day after. Delicious. I used my girlfriends 20ga 1100 that we had just picked up from the gun shop 20 minutes before.

killed one on the farm in KS., along with a couple of friends that also got turkeys, and headed out tomorrow morning to try to get a friend on an eastern Colo. turkey.

    Welcome back Raymill.
I've heard rumor of turkeys around Deckers, but I have not had any luck up towards lost creek wilderness area. Ditto for rampart range road. If I get a lead, I'll let ya know.

Same Shit. Little pricks keep hanging out at the neighbors place down the road. That dick is feeding them, I know it!

my buddy's hunt yesterday morning was one of the quickest turkey hunts that I've ever witnessed. We almost didn't get in the blind in time and probably weren't in the blind for all of 15 minutes before we had 3 long beards at the decoys. My friends shot was true. The turkey had a 9.25" beard but had no spurs, not even nubs. First I've ever seen a tom of any size not have spurs.

I had these same two friends with me in KS. a few weeks ago. Both of them trying to kill with thier bows. SO while in KS. I kept a shotgun in the blind to shoot clean up, and here's the only bird I got to shoot while there. He had a 10.5" beard and 7/8" spurs.

Here's a photo I shot while in KS. of some jakes goblling in stereo.
