    Default I Need a Job,-FOUND A GREAT ONE

I found a job working with BJ Services (insert joke here). They are an oil "frac" company. I am on the full time time crew, but there is a flex crew that works 2 weeks on and 2 weeks off. The work is hard, but the money is great. Drop me a line if anyone is in need. I will point you to where to go. They are hiring like crazy right now. http://www.bjservices.com/

Thanks everyone for the input and the help with this.

    monster, hotjobs, dice ....etc...

what do you mean "starved you out"?

if you had a job and now you don't... you either quit or were terminated by them. if they terminated you, you have unemployment coming.

I have been on Monster, hotjobs, careerbuilder adn the like since we got here. I was a salaried employee and was supposed to be for 2 years. In December I did not make my sales goal and was put on straight commission. Since everyone wanted to wait until the second week of January to buy I will have nothing coming in for a while. IE, starved out. The reality is he never should have hired me (or anyone else) for this area. It is very saturated with other reps and all of the new guys have to really beat the bush. There has only been one successful rep in 3 years. I have a line on an oil company, but I need something for this week.

Call here and talk to a recruiter, they might be able to help: http://www.teksystems.com/Locations/.../Colorado.aspx

My shop sees our ZEP guy about once a month or so. Over the last year we've had three or four other ZEP guys in wanting us to buy from them. We tell 'em we have a rep, and of course they leave. It seems like a really tough job to cold call in a saturated area. So it seems ZEP did the same thing down here in Denver too.

Good luck on the job search, I hope you find something soon. [wink]

There are 2 types of reps. "Genesis" and Tenured. The tenured reps are commission only and have been around a while. The Genesis reps are new hires and usually last about 6 months to a year on average. It takes 10 new reps for one to succeed. When one doesn't make their goals, they are put on straight commission and when they quit, their accounts are given to the favorite of the month until they don't make their goals or fall out of favor. The cycle continues that way until someone has built enough business that they can afford to go commission only. Only then are they safe. Again, there has only been one person to make it in the last 3 years in the Denver Branch. I don't know if the other braches do it that way, but that is how it's done in Denver. I am told that the company has a 50% retention ratio nation wide, but Denver has a 1% so far.

So, it looks as though I will be starting to work for an oil company Tuesday. Not Halliburton, but I did apply there. Back breaking slave labor, but the money is good. It's better that working the 3 jobs I had lined up to start next week.

    Cheers,
    CJ

You must be lying. [poke] You can't have had 3 jobs lined up, but picked a 4th job because the liberals at a political forum I go to, say the economy is in the crapper, and they have the moveon.org bullet letters to prove it! Well they don't really use facts, mind you. [roll]
Good luck with your new job.
