this is my first year hunting and I am clueless it says "will be mailed" did I win? It says I have 1 preference point for Elk I have no idea what that means

No, sorry. Official results aren't showing for elk yet (at least for me). Soon it will show a table under the "you will be mailed" area and above the points. If this is your first year and it shows a preference point for 2012 you did not draw this year. You can always do over the counter or left overs when they come out later in the year. But if he applied for a PP first, and then an elk tag, he could have both. Right?
I forgot about that... I've always just put in for a 3rd rifle bull tag in unit 20 with a 2nd rifle as 2nd choice. So chances were if I didn't get the 1st choice I wouldn't get the 2nd either.
