Changes/upgrades/optics for PTR 91

This is my current quest. To have my PTR 91 be somewhat more controllable in the 3 gun competitions, and *maybe* useful in the tactical rifle matches. I dunno about that last one.

Been thinking of getting a JP enterprises muzzle brake in place of the flash hider. JP makes two versions, one which looks like it would be actually effective with big ol' honkin' vanes and plates and such, and another which meets the 1" diameter limitation by the rules. I guess I'd get the "rules compliant" version if I wanted to shoot in competition.

A proper optic would be desireable... suggestions?

Any other changes you guys would recommend?

(Other than buying an AR 15, which I will probably end up doing here anyways).

The big clamshell/tank break is only legal for Open class in most matches.

The Cooley break is legal in Limited or Tactical.

Trying to tame a 308 in an HK91 type gun is an uphill climb. However, any break is better than no brake.

I would go with a Cooley break myself.

Yep. The Cooley brake is the one on the JP pages as the 1" diameter version.

You ever tried one, and if so, how does it work?
