I finally built my first AR and I'm looking to take a class or two, get into 3 gun etc.
The AR isn't anything 3 gun specific. It's more a home defense, SHTF, zombie killer, insert the .22lr conversion kit and go plink type of build (IMO).
With that being said, I'm no super marksmen and just want to learn how to shoot better and have some fun.
I see that you might have a rifle course in november which I would probably benefit a lot from.
I'm down in Colorado Springs but was thinking about joining CRCI and making the drive every so often to shoot.
Was curious if the rifle course required a scope or if iron sights will fit in with the course you may hold? I have a red dot but nothing for long distance. My build is here, via page 84: http://www.ar-15.co/forums/showthrea...t=7854&page=84
The other guns I have is a mossberg 590 pump and a FNX-9.

Any insight or if you can keep me in the loop I would appreciate it.

the boss gave the go ahead. In fact she might like to take the course too.
How much of a pain would it be with two people sharing one rifle?

Sharing equipment won't be a problem at all. Weather will be the deciding factor.

Understand and agree. learning in sub-freezing or snow storm weather is for the young. We'll cross our fingers.

Would like to make the clinic but I am already committed to shooting in a 3-Gun match at my home range on Black Friday. I'll keep my eyes peeled on this thread for the next one.

finally posting a Thank You! It was an awesome day, and I came away with a million more questions despite all the answers. (IE my world got expanded with how many factors there are in 3-gun). Really helped me figure out the things I need to work on, and it prepared me very well for the first 3-Gun match I shot at Lake George late last month.

I'm still thinking about taking some of the material out of my SLP!
