Sportsmans or Speciality. I have a beef with Wally World, even though they are the cheapest.
You know I like my coffee sweet in the morning
and I'm crazy about my tea at night
The most cost effective? Wal-Mart...but Tom might slash your tires
I'll admit it. I've gone into Walmart looking for ammo.
I've done this a grand total of 3 times. Number of rounds purchased = 0.
Why? Because I can never get service at the sporting goods desk and all the ammo is under the counter.
You don't want to sell to me then I don't want to buy from you. I can go to Gander Mountain or Sportsman's Warehouse and load my own shopping cart without some pimple-faced, squeaky-voiced sales personage to act as my chaperone.
Yes, if I'd waited and waited I'm sure someone would have helped me. I might have even saved $0.50 a box. Doesn't seem like a cost effective trip, though if I can't breeze in and breeze out.
I wish SW or Gander would carry the WWB value packs in .40S&W and 9mm. Hard to beat Wally's price on those....
Walmart for 9mm, Sportsman's Warehouse for .223.
Does anyone know if American Eagle .223 is normally $4.99/20rds or if that was a special deal? I got 400 rds a couple months ago and while I haven't even shot it yet, I should still be stockpiling more. Good price for non-bulk, IMO.
I know Midway raised their prices on American Eagle .223.
$4.99 might be a decent price at this time.
I really like the stuff, very reliable for me. YMMV
I cleaned out the Wally World at Powers and Palmer Park of 9mm value packs last night. Sorry.
They had green/white box remington 223 for $5 and change, I passed because of last weeks AIM order. Have not seen a 40-rd Winchester white box value pack in a long time.
And the older lady at the door didn't even ask to see my receipt!
I love wallyworld!
I go their all the time to buy all kinds of stuff, and people usually help me allot. The fact that they have everything all in one trip is worth it for me. I dont know why everyone hates them so much... I like walmartThey have good ammo prices, only place i know of that beats em constantly is online

I was just at wally world they had 223 , 200 for 57 and change not bad ,but it seems like ammo has really gone upin the last year ,or I ve found what costs more here than in oregon Guns & ammo . or mabey the anti's decied that if ammo goes hi enough that it will stop gun sales.
