Handguns are by their very nature much more convenient than powerful

The majority of civillians carry "just in case" and if truly pressed for an answer would probably say their odds of having to use it were low

I think what W.R. was referring to was his choice when suddenly he felt like he was much more likely to need a weapon.

And in the crystal clear moment of clarity he wanted "more gun"

People that go in harms way tend to view J-frames as a BUG..not a choice for primary

Scott Reitz (LA SWAT and TTS) had an excellent piece in a recent issue of SWAT on off-duty carry where he admonished those officers that revert to a pocket gun when not "on the job" as being too complacent .

If a pistol is like a fire extinguisher...just in case....then I guess some people just want to be ready for a bigger fire

Interestingly enough...I saw an AAR on a back up gun class and one comment was;

"In my way of thinking the Glock shooters were cheating! "

Because FIGHTING with the little autopistol is so much easier
