    Default Expired MRE's

Got a question to ask............ have some expired but good looking MRE's......(as in packaging looks good, no bloating etc).
Does any one know of a place which might test them to see if they are still good? As in caloric value etc?
Yes, I know otherwise just grab one and open 'er up and see what you got............... but I was curious for some better test...........

    Bueller????

My experience is palatabilty diminishes as they age. Safer than a Wendys burger though.I had a case of botulism from Wendys once.

There will be no doubt if an mre has gone bad. They do become less palatable with age. The apple sauce turns a bad color after a few decades.

Yeah, color and taste will go south well before they are dangerous to eat. If they look like they are supposed to look and taste about as good as an MRE can taste they are fine.

That guy with the MRE channel on youtube has eaten MREs from WW2 without issue, he obviously skips the stuff that you can tell isn't right just by looking at it.

This guy came to mind when I was reading the OP.

I gotta be honest, he's eaten some stuff that I would have passed on too.

Seems to have been fine throughout.

    WW2?

My dude, SteveMRE has eaten hard tack that was made during the Civil War, and emergency rations from the Boer War.

If there's nothing wrong with having to show an ID to buy a gun, there's nothing wrong with having to show an ID to vote.

For legal reasons, that's a joke.
