I typically wouldn't have a problem with that rationale, but as alot of people have CHINESE AK's, that arguement doesn't hold water.Originally Posted by cedrick

Have you shot both?

Yes I have, Bundeswehr issue G3 in 1993, and I own a Cetme. They are the same....Originally Posted by JohnTRourke
The CETME has Century Arms involved somewhere. "Getting it wrong" describes basically everything Century does.I have a hard time understanding how a CETME is a POS, but a G3 is not, as they are essentially the same rifle.....
I used to own a FAL. It was an StG-58 kit on an Imbel GL receiver, which in English means it should be an excellent rifle. However, Century found a way to hork it up such that I had FTEs with a wide variety of loads, even with the gas system all the way open.
I ended up trading it away for about fifty bucks more than the going price of the receiver.
If they can do that to the FAL, they can certainly screw up a perfectly good HK derivation.
The HK91/G3, again, is a CETME copy. Not vice versa.
While Century's quality control isn't great, most of these rifle's aren't bad, or else people would be flooding gunboards and pawn shops with them. I have one personally, and the only "problem" I have is it will not take HK mags.
I am sure Marlin would not sell a POS, Caliber is looking for a beater, and the CETME fits the bill. And as a bonus, it cost just as little as an AK, but far more accurate and powerful (not as realiable, I'll give ya that). If something does to go crap, parts are cheap.
If you had FTE on a FAL, you should have to close the gas ports, not open them.
Damn Brian someone piss in your wheaties or what?
