Ever heard of Iowa City, CO? Need 500-1000 yards to shoot.

I'm going up for a weekend and I would like to set up some steel at 500 to 1000 yards. The problem is, there is a lot of recreational 4-wheeling and ATVing going on around there, and I don't have access to private property large enough to set up a rifle range like this.

The area is about 20 minutes east of Gunnison, or so. If you know of a secluded, safe, and legal spot that is accessible with our ATVs, I'd love to get a recommendation for a place to shoot.

Wasn't there a member here that was building a private 1000 yd. range out east of Denver somewhere?

I think it is OHIO City not Iowa

Have you looked at the Hartman Rock are of Gunnison? If you go out behind the airport and go probably another 10 minutes past the entrance to Hartman Rock the road turns to dirt and there are plenty of place to shoot out there. Might be able to find somewhere to setup that far out. We typically only shoot 100 yards at best out there, but havent spent any time looking for something longer.
