I recommend a nice summer day where we can have cheesy brats and whatnot

See, I'm changing him one thing at a time, first it was cheesy brat's, then mg's, next, we get him wanting an UZI! :P Karl. [roll]

    HA! you wish! :P

all kidding aside, I think this would be a great idea, an investment, if you will in our kids.

how often will they get a chance to experince what we already know and enjoy? (granted, some already have this experince) If we show them that these things are fun and can be enjoyed responsibly, they'll probably tell their friends (or be better "armed" to handle some liberal anti type parrot child)

the political environment ain't getting better... we gotta 'fuel the fire' now, while we have a chance.

I propose an official 'kids only' day for sometime this summer. with everyones involvement, we can do pretty much a broad spectrum. From .22LR to FA and Silenced stuff. We can do things in stages so everyone gets a chance. We can make a day of it with a bbq or lunch.

We should get started on this right away.. if we want to do it this summer... you know how hard it is to plan the 2 day shoot we've been talking about for, what, 5 years now? [poke]

Does anyone want to volunteer to head this thing up?

How about we make one of our club shoots a kids shoot and let all the youngsters have a day?

That would make it simple and fun for everybody.

Sounds like a great idea the more kid envolvment the better. I have an 8 year old girl who likes to shoot. How far away are these ranges from Salida?

The closest would be the south shoot location just north of Woodland Park. That's about 100 miles from Salida to the range. A bit far, but not that bad. When I go to the north shoots it's about 120 miles for me and many of the north guys make the same trek to the south location.

But for you, I think the north shoots would be way too far. Maybe like 200 miles. Karl.

I just want to go shoot! I think the weather is killing me and my abilities. The reason this is important is my Step Son has become a better shot then I am maybe the weather is hampering his abilities too.........................not likely right!? However heck yeah lets do a kid shoot and for those with fun guns that are willing to let others children play I would be more then happy to help you out financially for the opportunity
Don't follow me you won't MAKE IT!
