first long range/precision rifle build

so ive decided to builld my first precision rifle. this wont be my first rifle as i have experience with the army's m24 from a few years back. i would like to build a similar rifle maybe with different chassis, but i for sure want a rem 700 action in 308 and heavy contour barrel. so my question would be where can i find inexpensive parts for this project. I definitely don't want to break the bank. this is only gonna be a target as rifle i dont hunt anymore.

I would just buy a Remington 5-R. The rifle will shoot better than most people can, and it'll probably be cheaper than buying all the parts and paying a smith to build it for you.

If you like the M24, then the 5R will be perfect for you. Seriously, if your going to build something on a 700 action you may as well just buy a 5R and be happy.
