Default I went to the orientation Saturday

Hey Mr.Mista Bukit I went to the one at 2:00.
If everything goes as planned it will be an excellent range.
I've lived in Colorado my hole life of 42 years. I can't believe
    the population explosion!

It didn't used to be a big deal to just go out and shoot for a day.
I live in Arvada and going up to the north of Jeffco airport was PERFECT.
Shooting those bowling pins was a hoot. Well I guess they felt like they
had to build houses there so it's gone now.

Then they starting talking about closing more areas to shooters. If the anti gun people got their way,. Slowly I would have no place to shoot
So I felt I needed to join a club so I would have a place to shoot.
    Just as a back up.

I could not believe how hard it was to find a club I could join.
I've been on Boulders waiting list for 3 years now. And I'm still
#3 hundred and something on the list. I'll be dead buy then or
really old. It's like that with most gun clubs around Denver.

After this snow melts and Leadvalley range can get started building.
It will be just a matter of time (I can't wait). It took me 1 hour
to get there from Arvada, So if anybody is thinking of carpooling
I'm up for that. I'm a loner and don't know anybody there yet.

My hat is off to Glenn and Aaron Rotkovich for taking on this
project, It will be a lot of work! Thank you Thank you Thank you!

    Hey Dan I Am,
I decided to join because it looks more relaxed with private berms and no entrenched busy-bodys or bureaucracy with nothing better to do than cause grief.
I am also a native, I grew up in Aurora and I miss being able to drive 15 minutes to find a place to shoot. Lead Valley looks like it will be a first class establishment when they finish the build out and I am looking forward to its' opening (hopefully early March). The drive out there seemed to take a long time even though I live on the East edge of town but the roads are great all of the way and now that I know where I am going, next time it probably won't seem so long.
When it opens please contact me, I would certainly appreciate the company for the ride and the shooting.
    Jim

I had just send in my check to join Lead Valley as well but I either didn't get a date for the orientation yet or forgot to put it on my calendar. As luck would have it, about two days after mailing the check, I got a letter from the Aurora Gun Club - it seems I finally bubbled up to the top of their waiting list. So from being a member of no clubs, I'm now in two.

I just went through the AGC orientation last Saturday so now I finally have a place to shoot. The LV range will offer something AGC doesn't, the long distance range, where I'll be able to practice my 300 Wthby and 22-250 for hunting. AGC's longest range is 200 yds. On the other hand the LV range is probably another 20 minutes farther from my house than AGC which is already 25-30 minutes. At this point I'm considering the LV membership as insurance.

I went to the gun show this morning and asked Aaron when he thought they would be open; he said it would be 45 days. I suggested they put a count down on their web site. [poke] With the snow disappearing and my trigger finger getting itchy I guess I will have to find someplace else to shoot until it opens.

Can you shoot during the week? When I'm not on the road doing my consulting thing I work out of my home office and can go during the day. I'm planning to hit AGC at least once next week and you'd be welcome to come as my guest.

    Thanks for the offer!
If you don't mind shooting in afternoon, I usually get off work at 2:30 and I live 10 minutes away from AGC.
