Thanks for all the excellent suggestions! I'll be working on them!

agree with some of the others.
room clearing, shooting with off hand with pistol and long guns, shooting from different positions.
i'd also spend alot of time planning and thinking through your bug in location and how you will defend/clear your home. then work out from there. who cares if you can shoot someone from a mile if you suck at defending your house at 5 feet. GL!
also contact shots
I believe in starting at point blank and working outwards.
Don't practice anything. The government will take care of everyone in a SHTF situation, duh!
Practice avoiding a gunfight. Then practice praying at combat speed. The goal to strive for is to be able to recite the Lord's Prayer under fire without interrupting it with "OH SHIT SHIT SHIT SHIT SHIT!!!!!"
In all seriousness though, Practice shooting and MOVING. Moving is paramount. I would venture to say that at urban distances, movement is more important than fine-tuned shooting skills. If you have family members who will be armed as well, learn and practice SAFE buddy team movements with them as well. Practice moving effectively in the types of environment you will likely be in. Shooting and moving in an urban area can be much different than buddy movement in an open field. Remember, Death of your adversary isn't usually the MAIN objective (If youre a good guy). Getting yourself and your family out of harm's way IS.
This all of course, is alot more time consuming than just going to the range and running a couple firing drills.
Hope this helps.![]()
You want to be a martyr, I want to make you one.
Practice reloading your own bullets and making your own gun powder. In case you are out there for a long time.
Shooting and moving is important and fun.
Who are you to want to escape a thugs bullet? That is only a personal prejudice, ( Atlas Shrugged)

I'd practice staying alive if i were you
