that looks like some hell of an open range out there, how far is that (pawnee) from highlands ranch? where we shoot it's pretty hilly so it's a little easier to see your misses in the dirt. oh, and sorry if it sounded like i was bragging, my wife slugged me in the shoulder when she read my post, i tend to get a little excited about extreme range shooting too.

Hit 400/600/800 yds with this basic set up. surprisingly accurate (sub MOA capable). Tried 1000 but to no avail. this was done @ pawnee w/ islandermyk @ pawnee 9-8-12.

I was shooting over 5 hills with the sun in my face... literally shading my aimin eye with my left hand and the right hand holding on to the rifle.

Winds were decently blowing 10 mph (it felt like) west/towards me.

For what it's worth... with all things that came into play... the odds were really against me to hit the that 18"x12" steel target out at a mile. That's why I stopped at 14 rounds.

Next time around I'll have the target setup in the opposite side from what I had goin on that day.
