Snail mail and smoke signals aren't going to stop this in the senate. They all still have phones. Let's clog some telco lines.

BTW, that snail mail suggestion is dated in these days of postal irradiation. The letter you send to your congress critter in DC may not arrive in their office for three weeks or longer.

Email AND call if it's important. Then follow up with a snail mail if it makes you feel better. Believe me, the staff will let the politico know if they're inundated with calls.

Another tactic is to call the Republican party's office in their county if one exists. Suggest your contributions may be better spent with the Libertarians. Money is the mother's milk of politics. A broad frontal attack that get's the insiders spun up can have a profound effect on the politicians.

I'm all for making phone calls, sending emails, smoke signals, and even carrier pigeons if it will help. Just one thing, who do we call? There are always people who are in favor of a bill, against a bill, and the fence sitters.

My Rep is Betty "I never met a gun I didn't hate" Boyd, and even though I still call her, she never votes against her anti gun money. We need to call those who will make the difference in the final vote, the fence sitters.

Why isn't the NRA, GOA, RMGO, or someone telling us who to contact?

    Anyone have any ideas??

What part of "shall not be infringed" don't you understand?

They are. The following email went out to all CSSA members. The CSSA is the state level NRA organization. If you subscribe to NRA alerts at nraila.org, you also should have received the alert on this bill.

    From the NRA-ILA

Last Stand to Prevent Attack on Right-To-Carry in Colorado!

Please Contact Your State Senators Today!

Senate Bill 34, sponsored by State Senator John Morse (D-11), passed on second reading today, in the Colorado Senate.
If enacted, non-resident concealed carry permits will no longer be honored if the address on the holder's identification is different than the state where the permit was issued. For example, a Florida permit issued to a non-resident will not be recognized in Colorado. No demonstrated need has been presented to justify SB34, legislation that will potentially threaten reciprocity agreements. This bill will invalidate non-resident permit holders as well as create second-class citizens out of Colorado residents.

Two State Senators, Senators Ken Kester (R-2) and Jack Taylor (R-8), originally committed to vote against this legislation and are now considering changing their position at the last minute.

There is one last vote to try to kill Senate Bill 34 in the Senate.

PLEASE CONTACT SENATORS KESTER AND TAYLOR AND RESPECTFULLY URGE THEM TO OPPOSE SB34!

State Senator Ken Kester can be reached at (303) 866-4877 or via email, ken.kester.senate@state.co.us.

State Senator Jack Taylor can be reached at (303) 866-5292.

Also, please continue contacting your State Senator at (303) 866-2316 and
respectfully urge him or her to oppose SB34.

To find further contact information or help identifying your legislators please use the "Write Your Representative" feature found at www.NRAILA.org.

Here is how you find out who is who in the way of your rep's..

    http://www.capwiz.com/nra/dbq/officials/

Just because a rep is anti-gun doesn't mean that we shouldn't remind them that they have a duty to all of their constituents and that we are watching and taking note of their actions in all things.

I personally am not just pro-active on gun issues, but also educational issues because of my youngest having Autism. I am just saying that it is good to be active with them over more than a single issue!

On a side note, I'm all for making a class trip.. hell if we have enough interest I'll see if I can get Nancy Spence to sponsor us as a group and see if we can get her staff to help us arrange the meetings with the other house and senate reps.

The bill was supposed to come up yesterday. Then today. Now its held over again until tomorrow. They are having problems getting votes, folks. Something is happening and our tactics may be working, but we are NOT out of the woods by any means!!.

Senate President and nazi gun hater FitzGerald is now twisting the arms of the Democrats that sided with us. We need to buck them up. These Democrat Senators are standing up to withering pressure from their donors and colleagues:

Please call Democrat Senators Tochtrop (303-866-4863), Hagedorn (303-866-4879), Isgar (303-866-4884) and Schwartz (303-866-4871) and thank them for supporting law-abiding gun owners!

RINO contacts that resurrected this awful bill:
Senator Ken Kester can be reached at (303) 866-4877 or via email, ken.kester.senate@state.co.us.
Senator Jack Taylor can be reached at (303) 866-5292.

Both are now denying the reports over at RMGO that FitzGerrald lobbied them to change their votes. They are now blaming it on sheriffs in their districts. Perhaps you are friends with a sheriff that can give them a call as a favor. Here's the map of their districts. Kester is District 2 (SE Colorado) and Jack Taylor is District 8 wich includes Rout County and Steamboat Springs. Hey, Sheriffs have to run for office too!
