Default where to shoot around longmont

since every bit of public land is locked down for the forseeable future (my bet is on late september) where can one shoot?

There is the dump in Erie, looks fairly short range.

    Anything over 100yd around?

Bailey, yeah, 3 hours driving before the traffic factor. That's a bit past my distance limit.

The "dump" in Erie is a private range near a dump. It is only open to the public during hunter sight in.

oh it has become very obvious to me over the last couple years that if I'm going to continue in this hobby I'll have to join a range somewhere. With boulder shutting down everything they can find and now shooting linked to the ubiquitous fire restrictions. When was the last summer you didn't see a campfire ban?

Trouble is there aren't many ranges because of all the public land around.

trigger time is crazy expensive, I've looked at them before. too much for what in my mind is a .22/pistol range

Longmont just finished there police range which will be open to the public which is Another option you somewhat have to join as well and buy passes but it's a option. Check for more information on Longmont police website! Typing this with my phone!

You could join trigger time as said before, but again it's pricey, but you do get a nice faculty to shoot in!

Other option is shooting at boulder rifle gun club during public range days first weekend of every month in the summer and ever weekkend in the fall for sighting in. It's ten bucks if I recall. Would also suggest getting on the wait list cause it doesn't hurt and costs nothing!

Another option Would be joining colorado rifle club out in Byers it's about hour and half away but you have everything including a 1000 yard range. The distance is a downer but it's worth it for me being there is not many ranges with longrange in are area. Cost is only 65 a year plus work bond which isent bad for everything you get!

Has anyone joined the Longmont police/ Sheriffs range ?
Considering that it is in Boulder county, 25 visits for 250 is not that bad @ 10 dollars a visit considering how far away other places are.

The 100 dollar check is understandable since it it run by the LEO and they need to know who is there.

I've been on the BRC waiting list for a number of years. I called them last Summer to see how the list is coming along and was told I still have a ten year wait.

I've looked into quite a few clubs and still think that CRC is about the best deal going. Sure, the drive is lengthy for me but the facility is more than worth it in my view.

I live in Longmont, I am a member of the Northern Colorado Rod and Gun Club north of Fort Collins. It is only about a 40-50 min drie and is one of the nicest ranges.

It is $85 a year and we don't have the yahoos. You can shoot out to 500 yards, separate pistol and shotgun facilities, Archery and they have IDPA, and other things going on there all the time.

You can also head out to the Pawnee grasslands.

Do you know if they've got membership openings? I emailed them a week ago and haven't heard anything?

    Cheers.
