Default CO CCW not honored in Denver...?

A relative that recently took the CCW training was told by her instructor that while CO CCW's are supposed to be honored statewide, Denver apparantly isn't playing by the rules... She was told that if she gets stopped in Denver for a traffic violation, and she has her sidearm, it will be confiscated and the red tape to get it back is deep and expensive...
This is the first I've heard this... Can anyone coroborate this or is this fiction...?

That is complete BS. A CO permit is valid state wide. You don't even have to have a permit to carry a gun in a car through out the entire state.

Internet rumor. The city publicly announced when the law was passed that they would challenge it in court, but would abide by the law until the court ruled. Well, the court ruled, and we won. They may appeal, but they are still honoring the permits. They even issue them as required by that same law. Karl.

Thanks and "no", the instructor wasn't Dumbo... I had heard that Denver Authorities were having heartburn about the CCW issue but this rumor was new to me... She seemed pretty adamant that the Instructor was pretty much telling the class NOT to carry in Denver or risk losing your sidearm if confronted by a LEO... Figured I'd try to clear that up...
    Thanks again...

Denver can have all the heartburn they want but they will not like 2 things from me in the same situation.....

    1. ONE HELL OF A SHOOTOUT while trying to confiscate my gun and.....
    2. Paying my family BILLIONS of dollars for violating my civil rights and wrongful death lawsuits!!(since I know I won't survive and nothing personal towards the police)

I don't think your friend will have any problems though

I can assure my experience was different - I was recently pulled over for speeding while carrying in Denver - I politely informed the officer I had a firearm and politely handed him my permit with my drivers license.
There was no issue whatsoever - he didn't even ask where it was, as I have experienced previously.

Concealed carry is just that - concealed.
If done properly, no one should be aware or suspect you are carrying.

However, if pulled over I always give the officer the courtesy.

Yup, that's sorta my experience so far too. I haven't been pulled over up there, but I have had a few po-po contacts that were business related. When asked if I carried I said yes, and I have a permit, wanna see it? They said no and we went on our way. Karl.
