Is there some reason my avatar on this forum keeps getting removed? Is it because I grabbed it off of google instead of it being my own?

If you are linking to a remote image, it could be they are blocking it, or changing the URL.

Try to save the image and then upload it as a file.

Or, if it was something inappropriate, it may be getting removed by a mod, but I suspect you would have gotten a PM informing you of it if that was the case.

You're right, we send PM's to folks when we change something like that (ultra rare) or make any changes to their profile (minus the whole user title thing ~ surprise on the titles is part of the fun of it).

I don't believe it's getting deleted by anyone here on the mod team. I agree that it's probably just a linked image and the host of the image is changing things. Follow Jayocks advice and save the file, then upload to the site - should solve the problem.

Believe it or not, I was actually uploading the image. Also, I have not gotten any warnings nor was it close to inappropriate.
