i'm not, she basically said the same thing, we would have to get several days of rain for it to be lifted.

The main spot is about 100 yds, and there are several spots by the entrance that are 40-80 yrds, but there are a few places back a little ways that can reach out to about 200. Bring a laser rangefinder if you have one.

the e-mail i received about an hour ago:

Hi folks! Good news – the shooting ban has been rescinded, effective August 2, 2012, on the Arapaho and Roosevelt National Forests and the PAWNEE NATIONAL GRASSLAND! Target shooting will be allowed beginning tomorrow. Just remember – everyone who’s been wanting to target shoot may be out there all at the same time. Use caution, be sure to let folks know where you are so they are not shooting toward you, and be sure you are not shooting their way. Also, Just a reminder: use caution if you are using steel jacket/steel core ammunition, as those will still cause sparks and could cause a fire. No exploding targets or tracer rounds, as those are not allowed to be used on public land at all.

Also, we will have researchers out on the grassland from time to time, so scope the areas out to be sure you’re not shooting the research and range folks! We appreciate that!

Have a safe and fun weekend!

Man, I just got back from chambers lake this afternoon. They had a ton of fire ban and no shooting signs up still. We did have a lot if rain up there, so I didn't understand the need for the ban. If you are going up there, watch out for mudslides
