Default The old girls get to go play again.

So I sold a few of the 22's and then picked up a couple more. The Marlin 75 is circa 1980 and had a broken stock. I repaired it and refinished the gun. Mounted a $10 Simmons scope on it. Had it zeroed but never shot it beyond that.

The 10-22 is from 72 and was gifted to me from a co-worker of 20 years that passed away last year. I never saw him shoot it and since it had a broken front sight that may be the reason. I mounted a 6x32 Nicstar and off to the range we went.

Both shot well with Winchester bulk and so-so with the wally-world federal bulk. Both liked the Remington golden bullet and the 38grHP Aguila super extra. 10 shots out of both made a single 1" or less hole @ 50 yards. Both of these are in the 1250 range. Did try some of the 1750 stuff and the groups opened up but you could tell that these rounds had some speed to them.

I do need to get more of the golden bullet stuff since I looked today and a brick of the Aguila is $30. Think I paid $15 ea for the 2 I bought a few years ago. Pic in a min.

I have some take off irons for 10/22's laying around if needed.

I've developed a thing for .22's...they're just fun. Tons of them out there, in every conceivable configuration, and usually cheap. Although, less so in the last few years, I've noticed.
