Is there going to be a rifle match in Pueblo on 9/23? If so, i am new to this, is there a safety class? I have taken the IDPA safety class, will that work?
What type of rifle is typical? I have a scoped AR-15 with a couple mags.
Sorry, for all the questions in advance.
There will be a match this Sunday. Your IDPA Safety class will work just fine. I can tell you the differences when you show up.
By far the most common rifle is an AR-15 with a low to medium powered optic. Bring 200 rounds and a few mags. Mag pouches on a belt are nice, but not mandatory.

Safety Class?
Sorry, I meant a Safety Class is required before attending?
No it is not required for you. You took one for an IDPA match that covered how to safely run around the range with a loaded gun.
Tell the Range Officer that this is your first rifle match and they will be nice.
Big thing is to keep the muzzle downrange and your finger off the trigger while moving.

Check out Zak Smith's outstanding article "Fighting Optics for the AR15" in the Feb 4th edition of the Shotgun News (on news stands now) and you will see several pictures from this match and local shooters may also recognize several members from this board shooting in the match.
Come out and shoot, maybe Zak will make you famous []
Matches start up again in March.
