I think todays match was the hardest match I have shot. Tough winds and high round count stages. I was holding off 12-18 inches at 425 yards. Virginia count steel at the first position was not good to me. After that, I was good. It took me 63 rounds to finish a 45 round stage. A new low for me.

Next March things will start up again. Justin and I will be running the show. The stages will still be tough just like Eddie has made them in the past, but there will more shooting positions and fewer targets to keep the confusion down for shooter and scorekeeper.

Till then, I am taking some time off being a match director and gonna do some reloading and get the basement finished.

This match totally kicked my ass!

I did, however, do better on Standards.

Hoser's got some pretty excellent ideas for next year and I'm looking forward to helping to run the matches.

If there's nothing wrong with having to show an ID to buy a gun, there's nothing wrong with having to show an ID to vote.

For legal reasons, that's a joke.

Hey guys. Thanks for taking over the match. The few times I have done it, I had a blast. Much appreciated.

Justin and I have put together a good group of guys to handle things.

I am hoping that some of the changes I make will make it a little less intimidating for newer shooters to come out and give it a try.

Hope to see you next year.

Hows the baby? Have you got any sleep outside the cockpit in a month?

Sleep? Whats that? I gotta go back to work to get some rest. Don't have to change diapers at the DoubleTree.

Hopefully I can make them next summer. Maybe you should get rid of the standards. That stage beats me like a Sunday morning boner.

Part of me hates standards. A big part. However it is a great way to tell if you are getting any better and exactly what you need to work on.

Justin and I am going to change the standards though.

Still 75 seconds. Still no penalty for misses. Still shot on MGM Flash Targets.

200 yards. 5 shots prone. Mono-podding, bi-pods, slings, ect *are* allowed.

175 yards. 5 shots sitting, kneeling or squatting. Mono-podding, bi-pods, slings, ect *are* allowed.

150 yards. 5 shots standing. Unsupported.

Then 5 standing, reload 5 sitting, reload 5 prone at 150. Mono-podding, bi-pods, slings, ect *are* allowed.

I never understood, liked or agreed with Eddies completely unsupported in all positions rule. I nagged him about it and we never saw eye to eye on it.

We are also going to time plus scoring like 99% of al the other matches out there. Each stage will be worth the same amount of points.

All 3 stages will require no more than 30 rounds each keeping ammo costs down and wear and tear on barrels. I like to shoot and can afford to shoot more, but after a while you just keep doing the same thing over and over.

The mid-range stage will have some in your face paper to make sure we remember how to shoot close up at warp speed. A very important part of 3-gunning I think Pueblo rifle has lacked this past couple years.

We might also have bolt gun side matches. Low round count (15-20) and Virginia count steel.

Sounds like fun Hoser. I might have to do some refiguring of my AR. I've been shooting these with my Varmint AR with a Lupy 6.5-20. Not sure how that would work on the close up stuff.

Any excuse to buy some new toys.
