anyone ever use it with 223 75 grain bthp bullets? they have load data on their site but i was wondering if anyone has had some really good loads with it.

Tried TAC with Hornady 75gr BTHP in STI rifle. I did not got very good accuracy though. I shot best results with Accurate 2520 and Varget.
Brass Winchester, primer Federal 205GM and col 2.30"
I began from 23.5 grains and max load used was 24,9 grains. MV with max load was 2680 fps from STI 16" barrel.

Please note, this is way over published max ! STI:s long freebore allows long col and I can get 2.30" to my magazines (STI:s freebore would allow around 2.35"). Both col and long freebore reduce pressure significantly compared to SAAMI min. test barrel and shorter col.

I've played around with Tac and 75's, but not enough to have a pet load set up. I've mostly shot 55's and 69's with it and gotten smoking accurate loads with it. Hoser may have more info about 75s and TAC, but it's a fairly new powder on the 223 scene in comparison to Varget and 2520. I was playing around in the 23.0gr area.
Mom's comin' 'round to put it back the way it ought to be.

Anyone that thinks war is good is ignorant. Anyone that thinks war isn't needed is stupid.

yeah i got some crazy accurate loads with reloader 15 and 75s. its tough because every weapon is different and some like some loads and not others. but i was just wondering if anyone had any half way decent loads with the ramshot tac. i may try it in 62s first and see what i can get

STI says it is 8" twist, I have not gauged it though.
I got averaged very close to 1" 5 shot groups to 100 yd, but I do not consider that kind of accuracy as "good".
Groups started to spread quickly when I went over 24,0 grains.

yeah its funny how powders work like that. i used 23.5 of reloader 15 for my 75 grains and it was crazy accurate, bumped it to 24 and it was all over the place

I found I had good luck with TAC at 23.5 and Siera HPBT 69gr in a 1/9 20inch. 24gr seems to do just about the same but I need to eval at full distance (200-400).

Out of my Sabre with a 1/7 twist (16") they are really accurate. It definitely seem like more of a pop when they fire also. I have been shooting the Privi Partisan / Wolf Gold .223 75gr HPBT. Very nice ammo. Would be even better in a 22"-24" varmint or bolt action.
