Glad you had a good time.
Amazingly well-run match, especially considering the size of the crowd that showed up.
Thanks, SOs and MD.

9mm - because they don't make a 9.1mm
I screwed the pooch on the Texas Star. The long ranges made this one difficult for me.

I was one of the runners going by the range in the morning. Had a short conversation with a woman who was "saddling up" from her trunk getting ready to head in, verifying it was in fact an IDPA match.
LOTS more people than the first (and perhaps only) IPDA match I shot in 1996 or 1997 at Watkins, I think... (it was right after IDPA was founded).

OK, I just emailed info at fridpa wanting to sign up! Hoping to go to the Sept 9th match. This will be my first IDPA, or any actual shooting "match". Been thinking about this for awhile, definitely looking forward to it.
I had a lot of fun!! The Texas Star is a harsh mistress. There were quite a few people today and everybody was nice & friendly, and happy to answer all my novice questions. The hardest part was definitely showing up in the first place. The wait times between shooting were long due to all the participants, but the stage designs were fun and challenging. Will definitely try to go in October!
HUGE thanks to the Safety Officers for keeping a safe and fun match today. Very accommodating and patient with the new shooters, of which there were a boatload myself included.
I hadn't been to an IDPA match in a very long while. It was amazing to see how many participants they had on Sunday! With so many shooters, waiting for your turn to shoot may take a bit of time but, I tried to stay busy brassing and tapping and that made the time go by quicker.
I shot with Squad 3 and had a great time chatting with some new found friends. Everyone was really accommodating and had a wonderfully welcoming attitude. This was a great group of folks to shoot with!
Shooting a revolver is a humbling experience (especially when having to engage the Texas Star on my very first stage). In fact, this was my first time ever shooting a revolver in a match which made it even more fun.
Good times and great folks; I look forward to shooting this match again in the future!
It was nice to see you out there Cy, and a pleasure shooting with you again.
The stage designers always have a little something up their sleeve, and this month proved that again. Everyone had to be on their toes, that's for sure.
Special thanks to the RO (sorry I don't know his name) that loaned his Kahr AND AMMO! for everyone to shoot the BUG/Stage 4. That was very generous!
Likewise MadMike! I will see you this weekend at the Mile High Showdown.
I heard some people didn't make it past the Texas Star.![]()
We had two that I recall for sure in our squad that let it get the best of them.![]()
