Public/free shooting near Erie/Lafayette/Firestone?
Greetings,
I am former USMC and am looking for a free/public place for some respectful and safe (everything packed in gets packed out) shooting in the Erie-Lafayette-Firestone area.
I'd like to do some plinking with handgun, .22lr, and possibly short range carbine work.
Please PM or reply.
Thanks in advance

First off welcome! post up a little bit about you in the new members section.
well right now Green Mill Sportsman's Club is doing their annual Hunter sight in: http://www.greenmillsportsman.org/gm/
Not really designed for you to go and shoot all day, just to sight in and get ready for the hunting season.
I have a membership up at Weld county fish and wildlife maybe we can talk and see about taking a trip up together. I live in Erie as well.

Thanks John,
Thanks for the friendly greeting and post.
The info on Green Mills was helpful. I had forgotten that I recently bought an SKS I've yet to buy rounds for and shoot. I may look into taking it out there to give it a try. I also own a .308 rifle and bought a new scope for it which I've yet to shoot with it on as well. Although, it's a spendy round to fire and I'd less likely to fire more than a mag or 2. I do on a .22LR conversion for it and would like to try it out as well.
I was not able to find any restrictions on their site which mentions anything about limiting the amount of time per shooter, etc. I've never gone to a range to do the hunter's site in so I'm unfamiliar with the rules of decorum if there are any.
Cheers
