Review KAHR P9Originally Posted by Pistol Packing Preacher
We purchased the Kahr P9 as a gift for my wife, Lisa. She wanted something smaller to fit her hand and the 9mm would not be a round that was too large for her to handle. She decided on the Kahr because it fit her hand better due to the single stack magazine and it had a nice balance. It is smaller than most of the other pistols we looked at, yet it filled your hand without a pinky dangling. At the range we ran 200 rounds through it and it performed flawlessly 0 mis-chambers, 0 feeding problems. The smaller size kicks more than Lisa anticipated but she is thrilled with it and is looking forward to shooting it again.
My impressions are: it is a very quality pistol that shoots well with accuracy. I am used to a 1911 so this little gun seems to have very long trigger pull- but having a round in the chamber in a concealed situation I can understand why that would be a good idea.
It came with 2 magazines one holds 7 cartridges and the other holds 8.
The only issues we had with it were the action and the magazine springs were tight but they should loosen some as the gun gets a few more down the pipe.
Because of its size and long trigger pull with no other safety devices it would make an excellent choice for concealed carry
When I got it home I was pleasantly surprised to find it was manufactured by a partner or subsidy of Thompson Center Arms, so I feel the quality will be great.
