My shotgun is with my dad back in CA. Should I just go buy a cheapo 870? I imagine there's no such thing as a loaner shotgun at typical matches.
I shot my first IDPA match last weekend (FRIDPA) and now have a competition lust. Have always wanted to try 3-gun.
Sure there are loaner shotguns. Or at least friendly people. I used to tell people to bring a friendly attitude and ammo and things would probably work out. I'm sure if you find the thread of the match you're planning on attending and sending up a request then someone would probably help out. Ahhh man you guys are amazing, thanks! Actually, the gf surprised me and says she wants to go skeet shooting tomorrow, her treat. So far that's the only shooting that she really likes (she's taken a ladies-only NRA 1st-steps pistol class, but they just shot buckmarks and she wasn't thrilled with it.. I still need to get her introduced to > 9mm which she might like better), and she's never shot rifle before. Baby steps!
So LakeG is out for tomorrow, but I plan to do 3-Gun at some point. I really appreciate the offers and advice! In the meantime, going to start saving for a shotgun.
