    Default New Shooter this Sat.

Whelp.... I finally found the time to break away from work this weekend, so I'll be shooting my first FRIDPA match Saturday.

Everyone get ready to feel better about yourselves, because there will be one more person there that you will be beating!

Super excited, and ready to learn/improve. See you all there.

Darn, I was going to shoot that match, but the wife is taking the car to Cheyenne Saturday.

    Have fun.

So hitch a ride with someone. I'd take you, but I am having to work.

Start a new thread, looking for a ride up there.

Glad you can make it, Jayock. There are lots of new shooters at every match, so you'll have plenty of company. The stages are fun, and usually test a few seldom practiced skills that have a funny way of finding their way into your training routine after the match. I'll be there kicking my own ass, as usual.

    Jayock,

Glad you can make this Saturday's match. I will be there, have not missed this year. I still have not knowingly meet anyone from this forum at the match, although a few seem to know me.

    Be safe and good shooting,

    Dean

PS As a new shooter, don't forget to show up at 8:00 for the mandatory safety talk.
How much wood could a woodchuck chuck if a woodchuck had gloves and a chainsaw?

Well, how was your first match experience? Good day, weather was nice! I liked the stages this month, way more use of Tac Sequence and shooting from retention than in the past. Good mix of close and longer range shots. Texas Star was fun, quite the challenge for a lot of shooters. Good match!

Had a great time. Took 1 procedural in each of my first three stages (4,1,2). But finally had them dern rules figured out by my last stage.

Actually did quite well at the Texas star. Average on some other places, and a few dumb mistakes or misses. I bet if only compared to other SSP, unclassified/novice shooters there, I was somewhere in the middle of the pack.
