Default Accuracy of Savage 110 ba models

Hi all, looking at getting a .300 win mag or .338 lapua in the next year or so and want to do my homework; have a .308 and .50 and want to close the gap.

In a perfect world (where money is no object) I would just spend $4000+ and order a custom Tactical Rifles AICS build from Dave Rooney down in Florida. However, being married and all, that might not happen, you guys who are married know what I mean.

Which brings me to the Savage 110 ba. After doing plenty of research online this would probably be my 2nd choice, but I've heard good and bad about the accuracy of the rifle. I'm looking for real world experience, not opinions; if you have a 110ba, how accurate is it, what kind of groups are you getting, etc? How do you like it? Give me specifics. Thanks in advance.

Google some more about Tac Rifles . I wouldnt give them any money after seeing the test rifle in 338RUM they sent to Ft Collins for an article 3 or so years ago , never did shoot better than 1 1/2 moa with the ammo they spec'd .

The Savages typically shoot well . There have been some issues with the chambers on some of the 338's causing sticky cases . Depending on the money you have to spend look around for one of the 700P's in 338 , it should be in the price ballpark with the Savage . The best bang for your money now in 338 is going to be a TRG .

Thanks C Ward, I'll have to take a closer look at the TRG folder.

The folders are the most expensive of the TRG's . Look for one of the newer ones with the 1-10 twist barrels , this opens up the use of the 300gr projectiles . The accessories for the TRG's are crazy money but luckily you don't need a bunch more than a couple of spare mags , all the other stuff is available aftermarket . The one piece mounts from Sako are nice but the ones from Near are quality stuff and cheaper and there are a couple of brakes available from other than Sako now also .
