    Default Heat Treating in NoCo

I've been mulling knife making for my own amusement, but until I'm sure I'd stick with it I don't want to mess with a forge, homemade or otherwise. Is there anyone who does heat treating in Northern Colorado? Specifically the Fort Collins-Loveland-Greeley triangle?

Really depends on how you want to do it. Why do you not want to send it out to like Peter's Heat Treating or something like that? They do a good job and it will be done correctly.

I do my knives with a torch. You will hear all day left and right that a torch wont do it correctly for you but I disagree if you do it correctly. I have had no problems and I have tested my knives and they work awesome. Having said that, it limits me to specific types of steel. I am working getting a heat treating oven.

    Temperature Processing in Longmont.

They harden all the Power Hammer, Planishing Hammer dies we make.

Just know what alloy you are starting with. We start with S7 tool steel and get hardened to a Rockwell 56.
