    Default Henry US Survival AR-7

I recently purchased a Henry U.S. Survival .22 rifle at Gander Mountain for $229.00. This is the same Stoner designed, Armalite AR-7 that Charter Arms sold for years. I'm really happy with it as a pack rifle and pleased that Henry really did make some improvements, such as it now holds three loaded 8 rd magazines in the butt stock. I had heard that they were really finicky on which ammo would feed. With this in mind, I loaded three magazines with CCI mini mag, CCI Blazer, and Federal Premium. Both CCI rounds fed flawlessly, but the Federal Premium stovepipe jammed on the first five rounds. I have not fired anything else but CCI mini mags since, with zero problems.

I really enjoy mine. Just break in the gun and it will be a bit less picky

That would make a great Father's Day gift for myself. Now to let the kids know.

I picked mine up here on the board. I have put around 3-400 through it so far. I love it! Only ammo that I have used was Remington bulk stuff from wally world.

I have a horrible looking 25+ yr. old charter arms (worst make) that was boat gun (salt water). It looks like complete hell and is no tack driver, has two cracks in the stock with JB weld holding it together, but it's my kids favorite gun to shoot. Light weight enough for him easily handle. In fact, he did pretty well with it today.

Looks like about 25 seconds from deciding to assemble to firing. Not bad.
