I would love to get a hold of a couple more to get for my kids but I dont think Radio Shack has anymore radios-funny as to how that's how they got their name.

I feel it's a great way for the kids to learn on all levels-most of all to see something they built actualy work.
They do have electronic project kits. I have bought a few, the components snap together with what looks like buttons. Good for the younger children so they don't hve to deal with ires and smaller parts.

I do agree that this is how children in this day and age are going. However, it is my job as a parent to sometimes not worry about disappointing my children or making them do something they don't want to do to prepare them and give them an edge later in life. I am not interested in being my childrens' friend. I am here to prepare them for life. If I have to have them do some "mandatory fun" then so be it.

My task in the link would be to read up on it... do it myself, and sit down with my children, teach them and give them the knowledge on how it works. Making it as fun as possible in the process.
