Bug out real estate

Thanks, Bush. That was the one I'd found too. Some pretty nice homesteads in there for those of the bug out mindset. I was wondering if there were any others around that I'd not stumbled on.

I have been looking through realtor.com, but it seems really slow with Internet Explorer for me. I now browse realtor.com with Chrome browser, it is much faster to load.

I have come to the conclusion if you have to have some bug out property, you have to build a small fortress to be really secure in SHTF. That or have a cave or mineshaft you can reasonably secure. There was a guy had a house in Pueblo West listed on Survival Realty, with a bunker underground connected to his basement with a hidden door. The bunker had a hidden escape hatch with a ladder that exited to his back yard. I think he was worried because we are so close to NORAD, etc. That house sold! Most of the bug out properties seem way over priced. I think you could find some better places by driving out and looking at the areas you are interested in person. Then research the property and make an offer to the owner.
