    Default Farris Survival

Went by yesterday and got a water tank. A 30 gallon for $69.99. I plan on buying a lot more. They are having a sale on Mountain House food next week. They're getting a new shipment in. It's a smaller store and the prices are a little high. But it's nice to deal with a local store.

They also have a water filter that looks good.

I'd think you could buy bottled water for $2 a gallon if you hunted around.

Or get one of these, or something similar.

IMHO, everyone should have one of these. They're too cheap, and potentially life saving, not to have one on hand.

I like the two bucket system. I think that is what Wulf202 was talking about.

.5 microns is not a very good filter. look up my water treatment cheat sheet thread.

get burkey brand black filters if you can afford them. if you can only afford these .5 needs iodine or pool shock to be effective

Black berkey filter is rated @ 0.05 micron for 6000 gallon for $100 a set of 2. I setup mine w/ Sawyer Point zero two filter in my get home bag and in my own house. 0.02 micron filtration w/ 1 million gallon guaranteed - $124. The hose size is the same as your fridge water line - so I set it up that way. In case of emergency, the 2 bucket setup is a great idea... gotta look into it.

Agreed, but with a .5 micron filter and boiling for good measure, you're set.

Costco sells bottled water for about $1 per gallon. It's the "Kirkland" brand water, which is Costco's brand name. If you're in the springs and don't have a membership, I'll take you and we can get as much water as you can haul.
