Thread: Wolf Match Ammo

    Default Wolf Match Ammo

Where the heck can I find Wolf Match Ammo in stock in town local here in Denver?

I can not find it anywhere. I have been to all of the big box stores and some smaller local gun shops and I can not find it anywhere.

I dont want to order a whole bunch of it yet. I want to buy one or two boxes and see if my rifle even likes this stuff before I commit and buy a bunch of it.

I've seen it in the Springs at Specialty Sports, and I maybe think I saw it at Gander Mountain. Not sure about that one.

My rifle prefers Eley. The "Target" is the stuff I use. Relatively affordable by match ammo standards and absolutely outstanding (sub moa) in my little Savage bolt gun.

I have never been able to find it locally; I typically order it from Champion Shooters Supply (http://www.championshooters.com/store/home.php?cat=316).

The only .22LR ammunition that I can find locally that has given me "ok" results is CCI Standard or Subsonic. I have shot both of these out to 300 yards with acceptable results.

I have also tried the Eley Black-Box* ammo that Sportsman's carry (which is actually manufactured by Remington) and, at least in my case, the results have been less-than-stellar. (*Don't confuse this ammo with Eley Match Black).

I believe I saw it at Gunsport in Boulder a week or two ago (a brick of it at least). Then again, that means risking stepping foot in Boulder, we're all commie socialists out here...

    Gander Mountain usually carries it.

If you can wait a week or two until all of my vacation stuff blows over you can try some of mine.

Yeah I tried Gander, Sportsmans, Bass Pro, 2 different Walmart's, 2 different Big 5's, and 2 small local gun shops...nothing....

Order 22lr ammo from Champions as well.

Suggest ordering a box or two of everything in your budget. Most likely one of them is going to shoot better in your rifle.

Oh yeah, I've tested 9 different types of ammo so far. I have had groups from 1" all the way out to 8" and 9"

I would love to hear about your ammo testing. Any plans to do a write up on your results?
