Default DOWGW in the boulder county area...

So I went goose hunting last week with the old man...We were in the blind minding our own business, working some birds when a DOWGW drives his truck up right behind us while birds are in the air....Old man told him to move his truck before he checked us...GW got pi$$ed and told him no. Old man, and Old man's friend got REALLY GRUMPY, GW moved his truck, then came down to check us while we were working some birds, birds flared and we didnt' get any shots because the GW had to check us RIGHT AWAY! 1 out 4 of us were good, the other one didn't have his 5$ BS habitat stamp. Got a ticket for 68$ and a couple of points. GW was waiting for us at the gate at 7AM the next day, checked all of us, especially the guy that got the ticket, but this time, he had his habitat stamp....The ol man told the GW from now on, he has to make an appointment.

GW was out there again this past Saturday...waiting at the gate. WTF? No appt?

Overall, we're finding the DOW in Boulder county to be rather menacing for the month of January. Any one else having the same problems?

They don't need an appointment! If you abide by the law you wont get a ticket so what is your problem?

I personally have never had a problem with them they have always been very polite and courtious. They did their job and went on there way never had a problem.

The DOW doesn't need a reason to come check you. Weather it be in the blind or in your house. No appointment or no search warrent needed. I know Jason, he is just doing his job. He issues my night hunting permits.Nice guy IMO. Where about your hunting in Boulder County?

Default checked 7 times from start of new year to close of season

Ok, old man and I got checked 7 times between the 2 of us...harassment.

And for the guys supporting what the DOW is doing...do u support them using your money to pay professional shooters to go into rocky mtn national park to thin out the elk heards?

    Hmm,
sounds to me like they could make a crap load of money running an auction to bow hunters for permits...

    sigh,
sometimes u just can't do a damn thing about it.

RMNP has nothing in any way shape or form to do with DOW that is a Federal park not a state park. They can not legally sell hunting licenses it is against federal law.

That is why the feds not DOW are hiring somebody to thin the herd out. Yes I think it is BS but unless congress changes the law there is nothing anybody can do about it.

Sounds like the guy had a reason to show up and check if he nailed one of your guys without a habitat stamp. Yes, they do suck, but it is clearly posted in all of their literature and on their website about habitat stamps.
I have to buy 2 every year for the big game I hunt plus the small game/fishing combo license.

If you are a good hunter and a decent shot, the extra $5 gets paid for with 1 extra bird. get a double and you had yourself a good day. Just remember the DOW doesn't take our tax money to take care of our wildlife, everything is coming from donations, licenses, fines (for those who get caught) and now habitat stamps.

As far as RMNP goes, I wish they would let CO people come on there and hunt, but unfortunately, its against the law unless you are lucky enough to get hired. Thats just the way it goes.
