    Default Fair Deal?

Your good friend sees your massive storehouse of food and says, “I know where to come in bad times!”

My friend lives in an apartment and doesn't have any room for storage. My answer is “I'll set aside room for your food storage.”

This is a hypothetical scenario but I know it's just a matter of time before I'll face it. What do you think? Is this a fair and honorable thing to offer friends?

And if they don't store their own food, they would be turned away in a crises.

    This.
I had people tell me. "I'm coming to your house, you have guns"
To which i reply, Well I'm going to your house, you have a wife. Doesn't take long for it to sink in.

I do not mind lending a hand, for anything (Legal) It is the ones who feel they do not need to, because you do.
This is a recurring theme. Just how many people do you help and for how long?
Food, shelter, guns, ammo, your prepping can get thin real quick.

The posted answer to the question is they must supply their own food. I would suppy them the space.

Hell i will borrow your space... 100 bucks in canned goods will allow me access to your food supplies if i so choose... sign me up.

sounds harsh but do you trust said person with you and your's lives? Only a very select few know exactly what i have stored as in 2 people. these people are fully vested not just borrowing a couple cubic feet.

this is why there are mini-storage facilities and storage lockers. In fact, it might not be a bad idea to have a couple of storage lockers salted away in different locations with supplies that could be accessed in a shtf situation, because I can promise you your not going to want to be in an apartment or townhome. Ducking by a cache of food and weapons on the way to a selected location might make a lot more sense.

I have summed up the answer to these questions with a sentence that I find quite useful.
fred "im coming to your place if xxxx"
me "Ill help everyone, but Im not going to carry anyone"
They need to start to taking care of business. They are not wearing a diaper. I dont hint at going to their house and using their things. I doesnt mean i dont like them. boundaries are important for you as well as them.

Ron, I think that your answer is a good way to get a friend to start thinking in a similar manner as you do. You may still end up with a conflict, but you may also gain a new resource for other skills if they get on board 100%. It's worth a shot.

I watched a survival show where they played out the SHTF scenario based on what has happened in other countries. After a week, people run out of food and start invading houses in gangs. I'm thinking the more solders on your side the better chances you have.
You have to pick your friends well and not everybody has the means to be self-sufficient. It just seems to make sense to build alliances with close friends?
