    If the antlers are of "trophy" size, the DOW will not let you keep them.

    We found a big mule deer dead along our driveway here at work just a couple months ago and reported it. It had a 7x7 in velvet rack, and they took the head. They did allow us to take any meat that we wanted.

    Do the honorable thing...Call DOW.....Be honest....But prob. wont let you keep due to the fact it was probably a mistake shoot... they will keep it for evidence...let us know what happens....

    The Division is pretty serious about tracking down unlicensed moose shootings. They'll pull DNA if any of it was taken before they got to it, in case it shows up in someone's house.

    Talking with DOW the other day they said there have been 12 moose mistakenly killed this year. Pretty crazy mistaking a deer or elk for a moose.
