    Default 059

I did... rough year. Statewide, we are going through high temperatures at high elevation. Southern Colorado has been hit very hard by it. As long as our peaks are lacking snow, the elk will stay there. A lot of elk herds are still in their summer ranges as a result. GMU 059 is huntable, but does not have a sizable elk population. Check around Bull Park on the SouthWest side of Pikes Peak. The state CLAIMS there is a herd there.... http://ndis-flex.nrel.colostate.edu/HuntingAtlas/. The only sizable herd I've seen is near the Nixon Power Plant, but thats all private and city land.
