    Default Wyoming antelope and elk pics

    Left last Sunday to guide a few antelope hunters, Same guys returned from last years this year they brought along another son

    picked this guy up on owl canyon road, there were 2 more



    he got warmed up by the time we hit laramie

    got to camp and the killing had started






    the dad was the first to kill, he was suppose to shoot the one on the left
    he shot the one on the right
    340 yards


    number 2 son was up next, first time goat hunting
    over 300 yards


    number 1 son was last up, he spent 3 days shooting and shooting and shooting finally connected at 240 yards

    thats what he gets for giving his brother crap

    bumped into these guys

    and these guys

    my turn to fill tags, 4 guys with 6 doe tags





    did a little rock collecting




    the one i left behind last month





    ended up with 5 out of 6 tags filled

    Mr. jack rabbit is in the "ready set go" position, love that...

    Can you tell us more about your two "rocks" that you collected. Looks like there are some sort of fossils formed on them?

    The spiral one in the rock is a ammonite. The one with spikes Im not sure.
    Should have a answer for you in a couple of weeks

    Great pics all around. I was wondering what type of rocks those were. If you get a chance, post a pic once they are cleaned off.

    This is from Neil Landman curator of the American Museum Of Natural History in New York

    The ammonite is part of the group known as Acanthocerataceae. More specifically, it may belong to the genus Dunveganoceras. They are mostly identified by the big spines. The are known from Wyoming and occur in the Cenomanian of the Upper Cretaceous. They probably favored shallow water in the ancient Western Interior Seaway.
