Spyderco actually has a place in Golden I believe where you could check out their products.

I have had benchmade's and spyderco's and like both, but I have a benchmade that went down range with me and it is by far the best knife I've had. To me the benchmade seems to hold a edge better but the spyderco's never let me down either. Just nice that my benchmade has a spring assist so it comes out quick when you need it. Just my opinion.

I think the ESEE Izula II is damn purty and complements any outfit.

^^ especially in pink! I love my Izula. Right now, I carry it every day, but in my backpack. I need to find a better way to actually carry it. I do love my CRKT M21-SF though. But I think that's probably bigger than what you're planning to get your lady friend. My [female] co-worker got a Benchmade from her husband and loves the frikkin crap out of it. I recently got my dad a Kershaw Leek and he loves it too. But you mentioned she has Kershaw's. What about an Emerson for a higher-end knife? Their Wave feature makes the knife faster than a spring-assisted opener. Some Spyderco's have the same feature too.

My "Sunday go to meetin'" knife is a Benchmade Osborne. Thin handle. Comfortable grip. Stays sharp.

We looked at the knifes at sportsmans today and she handled the benchmades and does not like the lock device she is a fan of the liner lock. Spyderco did not seem to interest her that much. Might have to look into the esee knifes... she carries them in girl jeans so the rounded profile fit her a little better.. like the leak and such from kershaw.

does the ESEE have a folding line?
