I've run into this argument a couple of times and haven't heard of a good reason why you can't (not that I've yet heard a good reason to do it either but that's beside the point). So long as you understand that your windage knob isn't necessarily adjusting the POA the direction you think it is, why couldn't you?

Just doesn't make sense to flip the aperture away from you on the other side of the sight... Does it? I could be wrong. But I have a feeling the MBUS/ any other buis are designed off the a2 carry handle dual aperture. Not trying to be a smartass, just explaining my thinking.

No argument here, although the loss of ~1" of sight radius probably isn't going to make or break it. I concur with taking every advantage no matter how slight however.

But both of those issues are a long way from suggesting a major issue in my opinion. I stated that I have never heard a good reason why you "can't" do this, which from my reading of the original statement, is what was implied.

Again, I can't think of any reason to mount the sights backwards, but it's also not something that I feel the need to go out of my way to correct. There's been at least 5-6 times where I've encountered folks who felt that mounting the sights backwards would cause everything from a fire out of battery to spontaneous explosion of ammo within the mag to the barrel melting. Okay, maybe that's a bit of an exaggeration but regardless, I guess I just don't see it as a big deal so long as the consequences are understood.

At least it want tapped for rail, laser, light, & red dot. Those modifications look old but no way to be sure.
