It’s not the heat so much as things like the chiggers, general trashiness outside of Tulsa, etc. Growing up in Florida, I was in the woods more days than not. I never got into chiggers unless it was in Spanish moss. But out here I got eaten alive my first time walking the property once we bought it. Not really into the idea of not accessing 50% of the land 8-9 months out of the year. The other times, it was raining when we came out and I didn’t have issues when I was walking it. A lot of intangible reasons too. My wife was in the ICU with epiglottitis a few weeks ago and the lack of family/friends support was a burden unlike any others we have had, especially with 3 kids 5 and under.

At any rate, we are eating crow and coming back to CO. May be there a year. Maybe til we are old. Who knows. But it’s a known. The area is a known, the work place is a known. It’s a sensible reset.
