Clear cut case of shit-hits-the-fan-itis:
I suppose if you come across a fallen TEOTWAWKI Warrior that has some really cool wolly mammoth ivory grips and you want to switch out...The grip screws- 10-8 Performance, they have a concave-cut slot, made so that you can use the rim of a case to unscrew them to remove the grips. If the SHTF, how many of us would make sure that we had the right hex-head allen key for the grip screws? If one broke somehow in the field or you have to remove the grips, you're "screwed". If you're carrying the gun, you'll most always have a cartridge, thus the tool to remove the grips.
More proof that this has been going on forever:
Grown men are capable of some pretty silly stuff.
